According to an official statement released on Monday, the embassy has assigned VFS Global to run the JVAC and the new service will effectively run starting Sept. 15.
Located at the Lotte Shopping Avenue 4F, Unit No. 33 on Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio Kav 3-5 in South Jakarta, the JVAC will operate between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for visa applications and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pick-up. It will be closed on weekends and national holidays.
Applicants can either directly visit the center to process their visa or make a reservation online. The address of the website will be announced later.
Administration fees apply to both visitors applying for visa and visa waiver registration at the JVAC.
Those living within the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General of Japan in Surabaya in East Java, Medan in North Sumatra and Denpasar in Bali, as well as the Japanese Consulate in Makassar, South Sulawesi, can continue to process their visa application at the aforementioned locations.
Except for e-passport holders registering for a visa waiver, all visa applications processed through the embassy offices will end on Sept. 14 at 12 a.m. But those who applied prior to Sept. 14 can still pick-up their passport through the embassy offices. (kes)
